red

Red

Red cleaves
Discretely
An unruly sun

Red shakes
Completely
The mutinous one

A stolen kiss
Straddles
The dark

A pound of hooves
Flints
The spark

Written for real toadsAustralia, exile, stigmata, a separate peace

It almost sounds like a dark nursery rhyme...great write!

Such stark imagery works well, both as a response to the artwork and to the expression of thought.

Dramatic use of the Red colour - title, emotional upheaval, flinting the spark ~

Thanks for linking up with Real Toads ~ Happy Sunday ~

Love the use of red and the cleave, powerful stuff. Dark and delicious.

I thought the same thing as Susie. Those pounding hooves will echo for me a while!

Nicely written!! Such vivid images you placed with this! I love how you played off of the color and feeling of this piece!

Creepy good and then the hint of romance! Poe would be proud-I heard he wrote beautiful poems and no one wanted to publish them :D

Beautiful.

Yes, I have that much faith. After forty-one plus years of marriage it's a given.
