Blue rain
maybe it will rain
and the crickets
anarchists as they are
will wind time backwards
on a broken spring.

Wow! Great images.
OMGosh! Those anarchist crickets will have us waking up for morning before we even get to bed! Lets pray for the spring to get hung up.
This was cute, thank you.
..
I love it! Anarchist crickets!
wrath of nature
The thought of crickets being anarchists is brilliant! Love this!
Clever words. I like the idea in this.
Crickets torment me here at night. Located in a swamp, through the walls I still hear them. They cry freely as I rip at my hair hoping they stop. Or I find peace in my sleep. Where the sounds of voices replace them. And the torment continues.

Ooh, I really loved the images this evoked! Lovely.
What great lines in this poem. Such an amazing image-- "anarchist crickets"1
that is cute,,,yes!
winding time backwards -- interesting concept; I wonder toward what?
i like the thought of crickets being anarchists.
A healthy dose of anarchy would be a good thing...only problem is the government would capture dip the crickets in chocolate and fry them. Then tell us they were a non-consequential annoyance that have now become a treat to eat and a new image for a T shirt.
Beautiful words... It makes one long for the rainy season!
refreshing...I like the broken spring
Maybe it will - love the vision of this.
anarchist cricket. like the words used here,
I enjoyed this very much! Great take on the prompt.
Just to let you know, when I tried to access your link, from my blog: My Poetic Path, it came up as link broken, unable to access. Very strange. I got here via OSI. Thought other readers might have had the same problem.
ahh, living in the city one hardly hears the rebels... a hot night outside in the middle of nowhere it is a sweet sound as you speak...
Very compactly conveys a time of broken spring and the role of the crickets and the rain in this is interesting.
That is unbelievably fabulous. Really. Wow!
Excellent poem- great imagery and I loved" winding time backwards"- what a concept that would be!
I love the sounds: crickets-anarchists-backwards-broken.
nice ear!

Thank you all for your comments. They mean so much to me. This one was inspired by an archival memory of my father winding his watch every night before retiring.
