Night Rain

Night Rain

hope’s late blooms, night rain
imperfect, accidental
can silence be new?

For OSI, prompt "fissure" and Haiku Bones, "night rain".

I like your haiku but it is a sad one. No one likes to have their hopes rained on overnight. :)

Oh, yes. It can and it can.

This is beautiful- a question, answered in the newly-washed air after the rain has fallen.

Yes.
I remember long hours of silence, waiting for a call that never came. It was over.

I do not know if silence can be new but it certainly can seem like a long lost friend at the end of a very busy day.

I'm not particularly fond of haikus, so I don't read them a lot, hence I don't have much basis or credibility to say whether yours is good, haha.

How is the haiku related to fissures? *confused*

RE:
Thanks; I'm glad you think so.

Hi, Leona. Thanks for stopping by.

When I wrote this, I was thinking about a 30 year friendship that had dissolved. The person in the poem is thinking about her friend. She is sitting in silence with the night rain softly falling. She finds solace in her solitude and she wonders. Is this a new kind of silence, one that does not mean separation, but renewal?
