Cocoon
Because the sky is too close
because blood is hot and eyes are pale
because a thrush sings
through all those soldered years
I fall into your folded wings
nestled in thick nap of night
a gull squeals
oaring the deep
dawn blooms behind
your lids
we rest
in
sightless flight.

That was beautiful. It holds some gorgeous imagery – thank you.
Yes, it is very pretty.
I fall into your folded wings...lovely!!
A beautiful, warm image. Thank you.
I love the because's, especially:
because a thrush sings
through all those soldered years
Awesome!
...and how in their context, what follows makes complete sense (I fall into your folded wings...)
...and this: we rest / in sightless flight.
Hmm... I've practically quoted the whole thing - did I mention I love it?
ah to rest in sightless flight. lovely images in this poem.
This is pretty, very nice, Gabrielle.
Your lines:
"through all those soldered years
I fall into your folded wings"
remind me of the many years I have been soldered with Mrs. Jim.
..
That was beautifully written.
Lovely.
very beautiful, especially loving 'thick nap of night'
