Love in the time of caterpillars

Love in the time of caterpillars
with apologies to Gabriel Garcia Marquez

summer confetti
the bodies
of caterpillars
soft with love
are everywhere
laying down
Tabriz runners
striping pavers
rose and indigo,
lavishing rails
with delirious design
calling stones
back to powder.

thresh of screen
covers the news
in stars
they have become lanterns
blinking milky wings
moving in forever light.
I want to go
willing
like this.

for OSI, "love"

Hi Gabrielle ~~ This reminds me of the way my college roommate said he wanted to die. 'Nuff said. :)
