pretty girls

Ooh girl, could you be any prettier
they corner her
in the corridor
between
5th and 6th periods
the pretty girls
in their skinny jeans

I mean, Could you be any prettier
they hiss through perfect teeth
those pretty words
form a fine spray
their tongues
do remarkable things
perform loop de loops
and curlicues
in fancy cursive line

Her normally competent hair
falls damp
across her brow
she hugs her pack
close
and the metal teeth
hold fast
their grooves
thank god
she slips out of her body
her face peeling
in filtered light
a wrapper
with blurry print

Written for OSI prompt, "sarcastic"

This is eerie ending.. but then you weaved it and then wrapped it well..

well done.

Sarcasm can be so cruel but she saved herself. Well written.

This is quite creative...I like the contrast of the pretty girl versus the unkempt girl. This is quite neat and can be interpreted in a few ways. Nice!

Scary. Excellent, excellent writing though :)

it is such a shame that this ever even happens but it does so often, this is right on target for the prompt and very well written!

Powerful with an excellent ending.

Sarcasm is a kind of acid, I think. How it burns.

They learn early don't they? and we learn early to repel and protect ourselves. Great post.
